Visitors to Prehen’s final Thursday Open had the last say in the destination of the top prizes as indeed they have done for most of the season and it was also appropriate that one of the most frequent visitors took the top prize. Richard Dunlop (19) from near neighbours Faughan Valley scored a fine 41 points of which total 23 were claimed on the front nine, his back nine of 18 points was achieved despite blanks at two holes. Second place went to Paul Curry (19) from Redcastle; his total of 40 points included a very impressive 23 on the back nine. Neil King (17) had a steady round of 39 points to finish in third place and Ernie Heywood (1) took the gross with 33 points. City of Derry wish to thank all the visitors and members who took part in the weekly opens and look forward to their return next year.
