Played over 17 holes because of ongoing drainage work at the “whins” Fonsey O Kane (17) still managed to score 38 points for his win in Prehen’s Thursday Society. If you consider that he blanked two of those holes then 38 points for 15 holes is quite an achievement. Second place went to Ralph Hamilton (17) who won the first of this season’s competitions two weeks ago but lost out on a double this time after a count back. Incidentally Ralph also had two blanks on his card, and a fine birdie at "Daly's". Third place went to Rodney Smyth (18) who scored 37 points and had thee blanks but his better back nine that included a two at the "quarry" gave him the verdict over several other competitors.
