John Morrow (19) played the round of his life scoring 40 points over the 16 holes played to record his first win of the Societies season. In second place and looking firm favourite to retain his golfer of the year title was last week’s winner Clive Brolly (14) just heading off the challenge of third placed Hugh Devine (8), both players scoring 39 points, the tie break coming into play. A tiebreak was also needed to decide 4th and 5th place with the decision going to George Baldrick over John Rosborough their score being a fine 38 points. Vinny O Callaghan took the final prize with 37 points and once again on a count back.
