The cares of high office have not
weighed very heavily on Prehen's current captain Wilf Donnell (8)
judging by his display in the Desmond Motors sponsored open on Sunday.
In quite blustery conditions he managed a winning 39 point total. That
left him one point clear of Johnny Harding (1). Johnny went round in one
under par gross for a fine 38 point total and a break of tie decision
over Brendan Sands (18) who in turn edged Graham Hepburn (6) into fourth
place. Sammy Conner (20) had 22 points to take the front nine prize and
John McClafferty (17) was best on the back nine with 22 points also. The
Ladies prize went to Ann Wallace (16) with 37 points. Saturday's competition at Prehen is sponsored by Strand Snooker and Bingo and will be played off the White Sticks to give competitors in Sunday's Senior Scratch Cup a chance to get used to the back markers
