*Break of tie For the second week in a row a visitor has claimed the top prize in the weekly Thursday Open at City of Derry. Foyle Golf Club member Gary Jackson (14) was the best of three men on 39 points, his fine 21 points on the back nine giving him the edge. Whilst not a member at Prehen his golfing pedigree was formed there many years ago as Gary is the son of the inimitable late George Jackson (senior). His many exploits on the fairways are legendary. Former Prehen president Brian Mulgrew took the second spot despite having no less than four sevens on his card. Brian’s score also included four chip ins. Wait until he gets his driving straightened out. S McCready (17) another member from Foyle finished in third place, a blank at the notorious short par four sixteenth ruining an otherwise steady card and costing him a possible outright win. Nines of 36 and 34 for a one under par 70 was good enough to give Lester Moore (1) the gross prize.
