Two former members of the host club put their local knowledge to great effect whilst playing in the season’s first Thursday Open of the Year at Prehen on Thursday. First past the post was Ross Anthony (6) a member for many years at Prehen but now playing out of Rosapenna. He had a very steady 39 points to finish just one point ahead of the redoubtable George Simms (17) who is enjoying a great Indian summer on the fairways. Next in line was former club captain Bob Coull (18) who just edged out another former member Graham Cummings (10) now representing Dunfanaghy, both players scoring 36 points.

The weekly Thursday Opens continue right through until October and all visitors will be made most welcome.
