*Break of tie Joe Ramsey Trophy (17 hole s/ford) The prestigious Joe Ramsey Trophy presented in his memory by the late Joe’s family was played for at Prehen on Thursday and it took a great score by the in form Alastair Crockett (15) to decide the outcome but only after a nail biting break of tie. The winner’s tremendous score of 39 points was matched by Paul Coyle (9) and when you consider that play was only over 17 holes then the merits of both players’ achievements can be measured. Martin McCormick (11) took third place on a tie breaking 36 points, 21 of them coming on the back nine. Terry Coyle (5) at last went into the winner’s enclosure taking the front eight prize with 18 points and Jim Stone (21) was best of the day on the back nine scoring 21points. Prizes for this competition will be presented after the traditional Skipper Day’s meal in April. More details later.
