School holidays and plenty of time to
play golf certainly paid off for the four teenagers who scooped all the
prizes on offer in Prehen’s weekly Open. Leading the charge was
fifteen-year-old David Devine (8) who scored a magnificent 43 points,
dropping only one shot to par in the process. David is also a member of
Faughan Valley and is surely destined for greater things on this display
at least. The oldest of the quartet nineteen year old Michael Gray (11)
a member of Foyle took the second spot on a steady 39 points and another
Foyle member sixteen year old Stephen Martin (6) had a fine 38 points to
finish in third place. Prehen’s own Sean Morrison (1), coming seventeen
in September will be well satisfied with his level par round for the
best gross on the day. Sean’s round included a run of four consecutive
threes from Billy’s to the Quarry. |
