Nineteen-year-old David Vail (12)
from Foyle golf club had a convincing win at Prehen on Thursday scoring
a most impressive 44 points round the tight lay out. David is the
grandson of the late Jock Balmer a familiar name amongst older Northwest
golfers and David has obviously inherited Jock’s great passion for the
game. 39 of the winner’s points were scored over the last fifteen holes.
Kevin Quigg (4) finished in second place, his 70 gross being the lowest
score of the day and earning him 41 points. A break of tie on the last
six holes was needed to separate third and fourth place with Raymond
Taylor (9) taking third from Ciaran Morrison (14) both players returning
39 points. |
