Prehen’s popular president

testament indeed of the high regard he has earned from the members in
his tenure. Vincent Hegarty (18) kept a six off his card and that
contributed greatly to his winning total of 42 points. Senior citizen
Billy McKeegan (26) proved that his recent Thursday Open victory was “no
flash in the pan” in compiling a fine 41 points for second place edging
out Vinny Morrison (16) on a count back. Dermot Hutton (11) a former
President’s Prize winner came close to emulating that feat with 40
points, a remarkable 23 of them coming on the second nine to give him
fourth place on a tiebreak. Lester Moore (1) took the gross prize by
going round in three under par and scoring 39 gross points. Category
7-12 was won by John Woods (10) with 37 points, cat 13-17 went to Eamonn
Maxwell (16) with 39 points, cat 18 –28 was won by James Harrigan (22)
who scored 38 points on a tiebreak. Jack Johnstone (22) was best of the
seniors scoring 37 points break of tie. The nines went to Bert Whoriskey
