Alan Simpson (14) was first
past the post in the Turfcare Solutions Open at Prehen on Thursday. A
member for just a few months Alan has certainly got to know the course
well in that short time and was able to score a fine 41 points for his
debut win at Prehen, and that included a horrendous nine shots at
“Dermot’s”. Ciaran Gillespie (11) took the second prize with 39 points,
a score achieved despite no less than three double bogeys. Four players
scored 38 points but Ernie Heywood’s (1) two under on the back nine
enabled him to take third place on a count back from Paul Gillespie (13)
who in turn was fourth also on the count back. Eddie McMenamin (11) won the first nine on 21 points break of tie and George Simms (17) took the back nine with another 21 points also on a break of tie. Frequent visitor to Prehen Ray Murphy (Portsalon) 24 was best of the visitors with 35 points break of tie. Results & Report supplied by R. Kennelly. |
