Brian Peoples (18) recorded his first
ever win at Prehen in Thursday’s Open Stableford and that only a week
after returning a card to the handicapper with 42 points, scored in a
friendly game and with no obligation to report his score. He felt that
his game was better than his then handicap and he duly lost two strokes.
Completely undeterred he romped around the course to score 40 points and
lost another shot off his handicap into the bargain. A break of tie was
needed to separate second and third place with Michael McCullough (14)
of mixed foursomes fame taking the second spot over Ballybofey and
Stranorlar’s member Alex Heywood (12). Graham Hepburn (6) received a
pleasant surprise when he won the best gross on 77 strokes.![]() Results , report ad photos supplied by R. Kennelly. Enjoying the Sun in Prehen's weekly Thursday Open are members Fred Stuart, George Baldrick, Hugh Devine and Strabane member John Wylie. |
