Last week it was a teenage winner,
this week a septuagenarian pensioner named Billy McKeegan (26) was best
of the day in Prehen’s most popular Thursday Open. Billy scored 39
points for a break of tie victory and that despite a blank on the last
hole where Billy admitted that the nerves got the better of him. Runner
up Hugh Devine (8) just missed emulating his son David’s victory in the
previous week’s event. Long time member of Prehen but now playing out of
Greencastle Paul Wallace (4) finished in third place scoring 38 points
and he also needed a tie break to push another visitor Chris Wilson (11)
from Newtownstewart into fourth place. The Thursday Opens continue right
through until October and along with the Monday meal deal represent
great value for money.
