Colum Murphy (10) past captain, past treasurer and past Hon secretary of the club proved that he is not past it at the golf when taking first place in Saturday’s Lee Hogg Bowl. A superbly compiled 23 points on the front nine was followed by a steady 20 on the back nine for a one shot win over the much improved John Hancock, his 23 points on the back nine giving him the edge over Martin Doherty (20) who finished third for the second time in consecutive competitions. Johnny Harding (1) opened his account in the first golfer of the year competition, taking the best gross prize with 37 points.
