Superb Back Nine does the job for Jack

On a perfect day for golf a fantastic 25 points over the back nine gave a delighted Jack Houlahan (13) outright victory in Prehen’s seasonal opener, The Subscribers Cup. A lever par finish and a total of 42 points followed a modest 17 points over the opening stretch. Sean McKane (17) finished in second place with a creditable 41 points and he was followed home by George Cavanagh (23), who was best of a bunch on 40 points, George getting the verdict on a count back. Best gross of the day was won by Prehen’s most consistent low handicapper Johnny Harding (2) on 37 points. 164 competitors took advantage of the glorious weather to play Prehen and the CSS was 70
