Terence Campbell returned to
form on Monday of Open week with a fine 41 points off a fifteen
handicap. The evergreen Bert Whoriskey(13) took second place with 39
points from Billy Anderson(10), but it took a break of tie on the
back nine to decide the placing. Greencastle’s Peter McMahon(18)
lifted the best Visitor prize with a fine 39 points while Prehen
Scratch player Ernie Heywood took yet another Gross Prize with a
steady 36 points. The front nine was taken by Terry Coyle(6) with
22points and the back nine with the same score by Billy Acheson(25).
Randal Parlour started the day on fine form with a superb Hole in
One at “The Firs” the 186 metre first where most players are just
happy to get out with a par!
