The City Cabs Open
Stableford on a fabulous Open Week Saturday at Prehen needed a high
scoring break of tie to decide a winner. In the end it was Richard
Ayton(10) who clinched the title over Aidan Devine(12) on a better
back nine with both players having shot a fabulous 43 points. Ronnie
Henderson(19) took third spot on 41 points and North West’s Paul
O’Hea(9) saw his steady 36 points good enough to lift the Best
Visitor prize. Mark McIvor(10) lifted the 1st nine prize
with 22 points and Reg North(22) taught his fourball a few lesson as
he compiled 23 points to take the back nine prize.
In his opening remarks at
the prize-giving City of Derry Captain Brian Abel complimented
Sponsor James Deehan of City Cabs on the fine display of prizes, the
large turnout for the competition and wished him well with the
night’s festivities which continued in the club house for some
considerable time!
