With the greens running
fast, the sun beaming down and a wee tricky wind blowing compiling a
score in the Da Vinci’s Ramada Hotel Open Stroke was a matter of
great skill! By the end of the day Billy Acheson(25) found that his
neatly amassed 66 Nett was the real deal and he took the top prize.
North West’s Robbie McFadden(19) was very proud of his well worked
68 nett which got him second place and proof that he was the best
visitor on the day. Paul Monaghan(15) waited until the cool of the
evening to capture his third spot with 69 Nett while the evergreen
Noel Kehoe(15) preferred the early morning dew to ensure he scored
enough for fourth place with 70 nett. Lester Moore(2) moved ever
closer to scratch golf as he lifted the Gross prize with a 73.
Meanwhile, Barney McDaid(16) showed that there is life still in the
“Silver Fox” as he took the first nine with 33 nett and Aidan
Devine(12) came back strongly to take the back nine with nett 31.
