Big Turnout for Austin's of the Diamond Juvenile Open
Conor Moran (19) from the host club took the main prize in the
Austin's of the Diamond sponsored Juvenile Open at Prehen on
Friday last. A very creditable 42 points was enough to give him
victory by one point from Shane Bonner (9) from Foyle and Simon
McSparron (18) playing out of Newtownstewart, the Foyle member
taking second spot on a count back. Another Prehen member James
Lindsay (5) had the best gross of 33 points. The front nine went
to Kevin Gallagher (19) from Strabane on 21 points and Andrew
Crothers (13) City of Derry took the back nine with a fine 23
points. Roe Park member Michael Logue had the longest drive at
the 18th and another Prehen man John Bradley was nearest the Pin
at the Quarry. Club captain Brian Abel congratulated all the
winners for their efforts and the prizes were presented by Mr
Declan Hasson of the sponsors.
