Alan Montgomery(21) the
vastly experienced captain of Prehen's Ulster Fourball team likes to
lead by example and how better to lead than to score a massive 45
points in the club's popular weekly Thursday Open for a most
convincing three shot winning margin, and that despite dropping five
shots over the last three holes. Modest to a fault Alan said it could
have been better "if my putting was good". James Lindsay (7) had a
remarkable best of the day one over par gross 72 and 42 points to take
the second nett prize. Best visitor and third nett was Colm Quigley
(17) from North West on 40 points and the fourth place went to the
evergreen David Ayton (14) with 39 well compiled points, an
encouraging 22 of them on the back nine.
