Mark McNulty (6) a former
two times winner of the Golfer of the Year title had two birdies in
the last six holes to clinch a narrow break of tie win in last
Thursday’s Society competition. He scored a steady 29 points over the
shortened layout to edge out former club captain, Hon secretary and
president Edgar Walker (17) into second place. If he can get his
putter working he’ll be a big tip for the forthcoming season. Another
former club official Brian Mulgrew (15) also figured in the final
shake up taking third place on 28 points. No less than three double
bogeys in the last seven holes cost him dearly.
