Aidan Boyle (5) showed a clean pair of heels to local members when taking the first prize in the Abel Electric sponsored Open at Prehen on Sunday. A brilliant level par best of the day 71 gross that included three birdies and an eagle earned him 41 points. Jim McCann (14) was second; he had two birdies and scored 40 points. Brendan Sands (18) scored 39 points for third place on a tiebreak from last years club captain Wilf Donnell. Wilfie birdied two of the par threes and best of the visitors was former Prehen stalwart Graham Cummings (9) who finished on 36 points. The nines were won with 23 points, John Hancock (12) taking the first nine and Jim McMonagle (18) the second nine. Best of the day in the ladies section was Esther Milligan (18) on 39 points, Rachel Chambers (15) finished second on 37 points and Deborah McEldowney (30) took the third spot on 36 points.
