Fred Young (6) had a remarkable 25 points on the front nine, which included two twos and that brilliant start was the key to his victory in the Saturday ball sweep, his ultimate 39 point 16 hole total leaving him one point clear of second placed Bertie Lyttle (18). Clive Brolly (11) had three birdies in his opening nine holes but faded slightly on the back stretch and finished third with 36 points on a tie break.
