Weather Relents for Sunday Society

A welcome break in the atrocious weather of the past few days enabled Prehen members to get back to competitive golf in the popular Sunday Society competition and Martin McCormick (9) took full advantage, scoring 31 points over the shortened layout for an impressive victory. He was followed home by early starter Denis O Connell (19), best of two men on 30 points, Peter Cassidy (10) being the other half of the duo. Jim McCann (10) took fourth place with a steady 29 points, five over level twos. Brian Mulgrew (15) opted out of his regular fourball to help two men on their own take a card and was duly rewarded for the gesture scoring 28 points for fifth place, a tie break giving him the edge over George Baldrick (11) who had to settle for the final 6th prize.
