Brian McMacken (13) made his journey from Dungiven very worthwhile when taking first place in the popular Sunday Society at Prehen. He had his work cut out all the same despite scoring an impressive 38 points over the 16 hole layout, needing a tie break to head off the challenge of second placed Fred Stuart (18) and veteran Wilf Abel (19) who finished third. Brian had two birdies in his round while Fred could only manage one and Wilf failed to register any birdies. Bertie Long (18) scored 37 points for fourth place with Martin McCormick (11) and Sean Ferry (12) taking fifth and sixth respectively both of them scoring 36 points, the tie-break deciding their finishing order.
