Brian Mulgrew (21) owes his
victory in the latest Thursday Society competition at Prehen to a
fantastic back nine, a massive 24 points giving him the prestigious Jim
Bresland Trophy albeit on a tie tie break from Richard Hamilton (20).
Both players had 43 points and Richard led for most of the day only to
lose out at the last minute to late finisher Brian. Third place went to
George McKnight (12) on 39 points who is slowly returning to top form
after a prolonged slump. Martin Doherty (20) was best of the day on the
front nine scoring 23 points and a similar total on the back nine was
good enough for the evergreen Terry Collins (20) to take his first prize
of the season.
