*Break of tie John Hancock (12) for many years Prehen’s Ulster Cup captain could well have played himself on to his next team if his performance in winning Sunday’s O'Doherty and Sons Open is anything to go by. John’s superb 43 points gave him a commanding four shot winning margin over second placed Dermot "Tiger" Hegarty (21). Despite only playing once a week due to family commitments David Spence (6) still managed a fine 39 points to take the third spot. Best of the visitors once again was former Prehen stalwart Brian Wallace (8) now of Dunfanaghy with a respectable 35 points. Ernie Heywood (1) was best of the low men scoring 35 gross points. The best front nine was won by Aidan Devine (14), making a welcome return to the winning enclosure after a lengthy lay off with 21 points. Peter Cassidy (15) took the honours on the back nine with 22 points. Ladies Section Veronica Burke (19) just keeps improving and once again took top spot with a steady 37 points to record her umpteenth win of her fabulous career. Lucy Smyth (22) finished second on a tiebreak from Cheryl Chambers (27) both players scoring 34 points and the nines were won by Anne Wallace (17) and Marie Clifford (25) on 19 points each. Prize-winners in this competition are asked to attend the presentation to be held on Saturday 30th September 2006 at 9.30 pm in the clubhouse
