A big entry for this popular
competition saw one of the younger members of the club come to the fore
when Richard Brady (22) son of "sporty" register a steady 40 points for
first place. An infrequent player Richard was playing in only his second
competition of the year and no doubt the handicappers will consider that
information when they meet next week. Ray Corbett (12) visiting from Roe
Park took second place on 39 points getting the best of a three-way
tiebreak with Johnny Donnell (2) and Alfie Magee (13).
In the ladies section Noreen Allen
(30) took the honours, her 37 points giving her a two-point win over
Kathleen Hutton (27). Noreen has obviously learnt a lot from her playing
partners in two successful recent team outings, a seventh place in the
Pro-Am and a second place in the Clooney Hall Classic. Veronica Burke
(19) Prehen’s, (man or woman) most successful prize winner ever added
another prize to her immense collection in taking third place with 34
points. As an added bonus Noreen Allen also won the prize for nearest
the pin at the "Quarry". Some day’s work! |
