*Break of tie
A superb 44 points was more than good enough for Les Renshaw (11) to take
the first prize in Saturday's Prehen Open Cup. Dropping a mere four
shots to par, giving him a three point winning margin Les's handicap
tumbled by 1.4 shots and he just missed out on the single figure
handicap his massive ability deserves. In second place and for the
second time in two days was the much improved Colin Jeffrey (6). A
combined nine under par for his last two rounds has brought Colin into
the coveted category one bracket and he will have no trouble playing to
it. Lester Moore (1) took the third spot with 39 points on a tie break
from incoming Thursday Society skipper Eddie Mitchell (11). Bob Coull
(18) once again entered the prizewinners enclosure taking the front nine
with 21 points and Malachy Armstrong (27) was best on the back nine with
22 points |
