Leslie Dickson (10) played the best golf of the day, a fine 32 points over the 14 holes to register a one point win over the evergreen former pole-vaulter Noel O'Connell (10). Dropped shots at the last two holes cost Noel dearly. Rodney Smyth (17) finished in third place, his 30 points giving him the prize on a tie break
