A surprised but nonetheless delighted Mickey Lynch (20) recorded his ever win in the prestigious Dispo Open Stroke on Saturday. Twelve over after nine he steadied the ship, only dropping five more shots on the back nine for a 68 nett. A six at the last gave him a bit of a fright but he had done enough and just won out on a tie break. Ed Burton (14) will be ruing the three shots he dropped on the last two holes but he had a great win in Moyola Park last week and will be happy with his second spot. Cormac McKeone (5) had another steady round only dropping three shots to par for a 69 nett and third place on a three way tie break. Best gross went to the inimitable Johnny Harding (1)with a one over par 72 and the nines were taken by Fred Young (7)on 32.5 nett and Euan Rankin (14) on an amazing 29 nett.(even with a 6,5 finish?). John Donaghy (12) from Newtonstewart Golf Club was best of the visitors on nett 70.
