                                Handicap Allowances
                   
Recommended by the Council of National Golf Unions
The Council of National Golf Unions recommends that the following handicap allowances apply in the following forms of play. The reference to handicap in all cases refers to Playing Handicaps. Strokes to be taken according to the Handicap Stroke Index.
Match Play
Singles             Full difference between the handicaps of the players.         Foursomes       ½ difference between aggregate handicaps of each side.
Four-ball           Back marker to concede strokes to the other 3                 (Better- Ball)     players based on ¾ of the difference between
the full handicaps.                                                                                 *Greensomes     Full difference between Greensomes Handicaps
Stroke Play
Singles               Full Handicap
Foursomes        ½ aggregate handicap of partners.
Four-ball            Each partner receives ¾ of full handicap.

Time sheet:
In operation on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays (Ladies Day). Summer months time sheet on Thursdays. Please check in Pro Shop before commencing play.
Course etiquette:
The club's dress code to be observed at all times.
Please replace your divots.
Level foot and club marks in bunkers using the rakes provided.
Repair ball/pitch marks on the greens.
No trolleys on the greens, tee ever.
Don't hold up play - think of others.
To avoid disqualification from a competition:
The following details must be entered on your score card.
• Name and Handicap
• Date of Competition
• Signature of both Player and Marker
• Play must be 3 or 4 balls only
• Ladies may mark men's card - minimum of 3 people playing.
• Cards must be returned through the computer
Ladies Day:                                                                                                     Ladies have priority on first tee at all times.
Ball Chute:                                                                                                             All of the group should be ready to play before placing the ball in the chute.
CITY OF DERRY GOLF CLUB DRESS CODE
It is in the interest of the Club that dress in the Clubhouse and on the eighteen hole (Prehen) course* should be of an acceptable standard. Accordingly members and visitors are required to wear "smart casual dress". As this term is liable to a number of interpretations Council would like to point out that the following:
1. Jeans (Blue) are not permitted on the golf course at any time.
Jeans as part of smart casual attire are acceptable in the club house
2. Track, Leisure suits** shirts with printed Logos e.g. Football
shirts are not permitted anywhere in the clubhouse or golf course.
3. Waterproofs or wetsuits are not permitted in any area of the Clubhouse other than the locker rooms.
4. Tailored shorts will be permitted on the course.
*Players using the nine hole (Dunhugh) course are required to abide by the above dress code if availing of the bar or restaurant facilities.
**May be worn by children up to age 14 years.
