Played at Strabane G.C. 28th April 2011

No less than fifty two members of Prehen's popular Thursday Society took to the fabulously prepared Strabane golf course on Thursday last to compete for the most prestigous Ted Pope Trophy, presented to the Society by  Jim Stewart  to perpetuate the memory of his great friend and former professional at the club who had emigrated to New Zealand in 1971. Sadly both men are since deceased but their memory surely lives on in the playing of this competition.
Stewart Canning (22) was best of the  day on 38 points with Wilf Abel (24) taking second place on 37 points and Eamonn McCourt (9) the society's secretary finishing on 36 points for the third spot. Robin McClay (22) took the first nine prize with an excellent 22 points and Larry Coyle (18) scored 18 points for the second nine prize on a count back. No society golf on Thursdays until October but competition continues every week throughout the Summer with the ever popular Thursday Opens, entry of £3.00 for members and visitors pay £15.00 inclusive of green fee. Superb value!!!
