Sunday saw significant shifts as the day progressed. Andrew McFeely, John Barrett, Sean McKane and Eric Watson stormed back from their paltry 82 points on Day One to register the best score of Day Two with a magnificent 95 point total to claim the best day prize for Sunday. The hard-
Meanwhile Jeremy Thatcher, James Harrigan, Denis O'Connell and Billy Henderson failed to produce the fireworks of Saturday and had to be satisfied with claiming the best day prize for their 92 points on Day One. The talented foursome of Wilfred Abel, Peter Cassidy, Jim J McCann and Sean Ferry were the epitome of steady play scoring 45 points on each nine of the 36 hole competition but they had to settle for fourth prize by virtue of a BOT to the team of Martin Doherty, Tony Murray, Tony McCann and Stephen Meehan who also carded 180 points but had a better second day. The team finishing second was a fierce mixture of audacity, experience and panache but readers will have to contact the team members to see who is claiming which characteristic! Indeed, Eamon McCourt, Maurice Quigg, Peter Villa and Christie McWilliams will no doubt claim all of these characteristics collectively and individually given they repeated their 91 points of Saturday with the same score on Sunday to finish on a total of 182 points and only two shots adrift of the eventual winners. Alfie Kane, Seamus Given, Jim O'Hagan and Ken Quigley ran out the winners as they repeated their Saturday score of 92 to card a fabulous 184 total for the overall event.
